At #ELGL18 on May 17, 2018 from 3:30 to 5:00, we are featuring “attendee-led meet-ups.” This is your chance to experience Golden and talk about cool local government concepts with your ELGL family. You must pre-register for these meet-ups using this link. All events are first come, first serve.
Meet-up #2: Pizza & Partnerships
Join Dan Corken from the CPB Group at the American Mountaineering Center to talk about the creative private-public partnership model that Domino’s Pizza is using to fill potholes in cities around the country. Hosted pizza.
Meet-up #3: Powerful Budgeting, Powerful Brewing
Join ResourceX at New Terrain Brewing for an interactive beer tasting and data-driven budgeting discussion. Learn how ResourceX (Online Priority Based Budgeting) was founded by two graduates of Golden’s own School of Mines, how brewing and budgeting both achieve results through data, and how open data benefits both local government and the brewing industries (and all citizens across the globe)! Hosted beer & snacks.
Meet-up #4: Triceratops Walk & IoT
Ed Krafcik and Andrew Schmidt from Soofa will lead this walk along the Triceratops Trail and a discussion about the internet of things and how your city can harness data using signs and benches.
Meet-up #4: Bikes, Brews & Citizen Requests with Belleair
Join SeeClickFix and the Town of Belleair for a 30 minute bike ride around the Clear Creek Loop! Following the ride, we’ll enjoy local brews at Mountain Toad Brewing and hear from Town of Belleair how they manage citizen requests and have established communications standards for ensuring success. We have 30 bikes reserved at the Golden Bike Library. For those who’d prefer to walk, feel free to join us too and we’ll create a walking group.
