The Position

The Novak Consulting Group is searching for a new member for our Executive Search team. We’re a small local government consulting firm in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to our core staff in Cincinnati, we have full-time, senior consultants in the Washington, D.C. and Raleigh-Durham Triangle metropolitan areas. Our team is supplemented by subject matter experts in other geographic areas.

The recruitment specialist assists our executive search practice leader in a variety of ways:

  • Researching and writing recruitment brochures
  • Analyzing survey data
  • Conducting outreach to potential applicants
  • Reviewing applicant materials
  • Conducting phone interviews and reference checks
  • Preparing memos and reports
  • Providing prompt communication with clients and applicants
  • Provide on-site support for meetings and interviews

This person needs the flexibility and willingness to meet each responsibility with a high level of enthusiasm, responsiveness, and attention to detail, from attending meetings with city council members to conducting internet research to sifting through data.

We’re looking for someone with a master’s degree, at least 1-2 years of local government experience, and the ability to travel about 25% of the time. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of urgency, can zig and zag, and has a passion for local government.
