Human Resources Director
The City of Beaverton is seeking a dynamic, creative and talented director or senior manager with extensive experience in human resources. We seek a high-performing leader who is an innovative strategist and collaborative relationship builder. Our ideal candidate will be able to provide a broader outlook and creative approach to sometimes complex or difficult problems and clearly provide and communicate new ideas and solutions.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources and personnel administration including: recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, union contract negotiations, and employee and labor relations; also, federal, state and labor and employment laws and ordinances. The candidate will be working with city leadership and department directors, should be a strong leader and must possess strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Solid integrity and adherence to ethical standards are key.
The Human Resources Director is responsible for managing and directing Human Resources Department operations, including budget, administrative compliance and staff supervision. The director is also responsible for developing, reviewing and approving departmental strategic planning, work plans, services, policies, procedures and reports. The Human Resources Director is a member of the city’s Senior Management Team.
