The Public Works Department is looking for an energetic and highly talented Administrative Analyst to join our Senior Management Team. This position is responsible for high level financial functions including budget preparation and monitoring; development of and reporting on business plans, benchmarking, and performance measures; complex data analysis and report writing; and assisting with human resources functions of the department.
The Public Works Senior Management Team works closely with Public Works divisions, other Town departments, and Town management to maintain a high quality of life for the Chapel Hill community. With 115 employees and a $16 million budget, the Town of Chapel Hill Public Works department provides a variety of needed services to the public and the Town, including solid waste services, engineering and design, streets and construction, traffic engineering, stormwater management, facilities maintenance, and fleet maintenance.
The ideal Administrative Analyst candidate will be team-oriented with a participatory management style, and will have proven leadership, communication, negotiation, and organization skills. Must be committed to providing excellent customer service and demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of the Town of Chapel Hill.
Minimum Qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field and one year of experience performing professional administrative duties, OR any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of this job. A Master’s degree and experience in the public sector are preferred, but not required.
