Under general direction, manages and directs assigned human resources functions that may include classification, compensation, employee benefits, leave administration, recruitment, labor and employee relations, EEO, training, organizational development, and personnel rules and administrative policies. Assists the Human Resources Director in developing strategic citywide Human Resources programs and initiatives.
In addition to working in the traditional areas of HR, the Senior Manager will provide high level support to the organization including participation on special project assignments, organizational development initiatives, committees and special teams and interdepartmental initiatives.
The Senior Manager will be a key participant in contract negotiations and will sit on bargaining teams. Participates as a member of the Service Area Management Team and acts in capacity of the Director in his/her absence.
