The Oregon Economic Development Association is hosting its annual conference on October 20 to October 22 in Hood River. This is a great opportunity to make connections with professionals in the economic development sector and learn more about current issues in economic development for the State of Oregon. This year they are inviting all ELGL members to a social hour and networking opportunity on Sunday October 20! So join OEDA on October 20th at the Hood River Inn and enjoy some appetizers and hors d’oeuvres. This is a great opportunity to meet members of OEDA and learn about their mission and the work that they do.
The Conference topics on Monday range from Economic Development Opportunities in the Electric Car Industry to incorporating rail into your economic strategy. Monday also includes a brewery tour and beer tasting at Full Sail Brewery. Tuesday’s topics include: Growing the Local Economy Through Urban Renewal and Tax Increment Financing, perspectives from three different ports on the Columbia River, and turning tourism and recreation into economic development. For more information on the OEDA Conference agenda check out the full schedule: 2013 Conference Detail Agenda 9-20-13.
ELGL Members can receive the OEDA member discount, $40 off the conference price, if you register by September 27th. Just go through the normal registration process as a non-member and after you have answered all the required questions enter the coupon code “ELGL” on the checkout screen. This should give you the $40 discount.
