The investigation into financial discrepancies within the city of Dallas continues this week on the heels of last week’s resignation of City Manager Jerry Wyatt, though few specifics have been cited.
“There are not many additional details we can share at this point,” Dallas Police public information officer Tom Simpson said Tuesday afternoon. “I will reiterate this investigation is into financial matters, so we’re currently researching and reviewing a lot of information.”
A tragedy in the Shakespearean sense is the way Dallas Mayor Brian Dalton described Wyatt’s July 2 resignation amid city financial irregularities.
Dalton and other officials, inside and outside of Dallas, have described Wyatt in friendly terms — a likeable guy and solid city manager; an involved community citizen who has coached little league and regularly takes part in church activities.
