City Manager, City of Coquille, OR. City population 3,885. Salary range $75,000 – $85,000 DOQ plus excellent benefit package. Staff of 33, annual operating budget of $9.5 (plus $11.5 million in capital this year). Position responsible to Mayor and 6-member Council.
The City of Coquille is the Coos County seat and is nestled in a beautiful valley, set between the I-5 corridor and the Pacific Ocean along the beautiful Coquille River. The town offers many quaint shops, a one of a kind entertainment experience at the Sawdust Theatre, an annual Gay 90’s celebration (celebrating our city’s history which dates to the 1890’s), and a developing 14 acre commercial site that promises future growth and development. Seeking skilled professional to work collaboratively with council, staff and citizens to enhance quality of life, promote innovative quality development and job creation, and provide excellence in city services. Applicants are required to have Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or related field, plus 3 years experience as the chief executive or department head in a local government organization with supervisory, budget and management responsibilities. Any satisfactory combination of practical experience (beyond that required for initial qualification) and education will be considered. Desired experience areas are: urban renewal, capital project management, budget/finance, grant writing and administration, human resources and intergovernmental relations. The city desires a manager who wants to become an integral part of the community by being active in local organizations that promote the City of Coquille.
