City Administrator – Madras, Oregon
Population 6,211. Salary is open based on qualifications. Mid-range is expected to be $100,000 per year. 31 full time staff, $19 million annual budget. Mayor and six-member City Council set policy. City Administrator directs policy implementation. Madras is located on the east side of the Cascade Mountain range. A full service community, Madras has a robust retail and industrial economy, owns and operates its own airport, and provides both water and waste water utilities. The City also has an Urban Renewal District. A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or related field is required. A Master’s degree is desirable. At least five years of City administrator/Manager experience, or department management experience, for a similar full service City, or equally complex government unit, is required. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of municipal government, its operations and financing and grant writing/administration. Economic development or urban renewal district administration experience is also desirable.
